Welcome to Canberra Church of Christ

We are a non-denominational group of Christians united in our core values, which are based on God's Word. 

As a church, we believe:

• God came to earth in the flesh as Jesus. Born to a virgin, Jesus lived and served, died for our sins, was resurrected, and now reigns with the heavenly Father. 
• All have sinned and are in need of forgiveness and salvation. Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. 
• To become a Christian, faith is expressed through repentance of sins, belief in Jesus as Lord, and being baptised (immersed in water) for forgiveness of sins. 
• Christians are called to be followers of Jesus. The local congregation plays an essential role in nurturing this life of discipleship. 
• God wants us to gather together regularly to worship Him and encourage each other. As a congregation, we endeavour to do this on a regular basis. 
• The church is the local expression of Christ's universal church. We try to reflect New Testament faith and practice wherever possible. We pursue this with conviction and humility, seeking not to be another denomination but to be simply Christians. 
• At the end of life on earth, each of us will face God. If we have trusted in Christ's sacrifice to save us, we will live with Him for eternity. If not, then we will face God's judgment. 
• All of life is designed to bring us closer to God, giving Him glory and bringing us joy, peace, and purpose. 

In lieu of an eldership (which we are working towards), a leadership group of nominated older men provides guidance and recommendations to the congregation in spiritual and administrative matters.
